Who is Moza Alkuwari?
A proud Qatari girl, 23 years old, and a senior at Qatar University. My major is English Literature and my minor is Translation. I’ve always loved learning new languages besides Arabic, and the fact that it’s possible to learn an unlimited number of languages and speak them fluently has always fascinated me. Being brought up in an Arabic, Qatari culture has had a strong effect on me; I have grown to really love my culture and appreciate every unique thing about it. One of the unique points of Qatari culture is the language - we use a colloquial Arabic that is only used in Qatar. Our language is a big part of our culture, which is why I want to become a translator in the future. My ambition is to be able to introduce my language and culture to other people around the world while speaking their own languages.

Part of the Qatar 2030 vision is to "transform Qatar into an advanced society capable of achieving sustainable development". This is well-aligned with my ambition of helping to develop my country and serve my society. Through achieving my goals of becoming a professional translator, I would be able to help and serve my country in its upcoming future plans.
Hey moza,
ReplyDeleteI thought I commented on your post earlier. I really admire how ambitious you are talking about your dreams and about learning a new language.
I myself have always wanted to learn a new language. I took Italian and French classe at ( TII language center and italy) and now doing a minor in Spanish. I would highly recommend you to take the first step and start watching series in Spanish and French ( I can recommend you some if you like..) or listen to music. I believe that learning a new language makes you smarter and help expose you to different cultures and backgrounds. The fact that you want to take it to another level and be a translator make it more challenging. But I believe that once you learn one language it makes much easier to learn the other.
I wish you the very best doing what you love and hope to hear good things about you in the future.
Great post!
Best,
Roudha
